Last night we went to Carnaval which is this 4 day long celebration. No one really knows what they're celebrating but everyone dresses up in elaborate costumes and celebrates! Sitges is the main city where Carnival is celebrated. We went on Sunday because the parade only takes place on Sunday and Tuesday. Sitges is about a half an hour train ride South of Barcelona. Its known as "the gay city" but I honestly did not see many gay people!

We arrived around 2pm because we wanted to check out the city before all of the excitement started. It was kind of small but the beaches were gorgeous! We ended up catching the parade that all of the children take place in. They were adorable!!

Afterwards we explored for a bit, got a bite to eat and then scoped out our spots for the real parade. The streets began to fill with people. The night parade was the main event and it was basically like a Halloween style Mardi Gras without the beads mixed with the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade. It was really a fun time!
